ECHO AWARD 2010
direct mail campaign for Telenor won SILVER at the ECHO Awards 2010 within the "Communications/Utilities" category.
The campaign was produced by Jysk Formular Print for Project Manager Hanne Løchen at Norwegian advertising agency RAPP. A mix of traditional offset print, digital mono print and digital 4 colour print was used for this mail. This combination created a unique product, which can justifiably be called a genuine one-to-one mail.
The annual awards are presented in San Francisco, where Hanne Løchen received the award on behalf of RAPP.
My colleagues and I work to communicate to individual customers in a relevant and personal manner. This campaign really allowed us to do so, and in a new, advanced and different way, thanks to the technical opportunities offered by the selfmailer and the combination of offset/digital mono and 4 colour print. I was a little familiar with the technical solution and selfmailer from my work with Coop, but being able to use 4 colour digital print in such a sophisticated way was great fun.
Our customer, Telenor, was extremely positive about the idea. It was a demanding database and planning job for all concerned, but everyone could see at an early stage that this was the right way to go. The fact that Jysk Formular Print was also involved at an early stage with advice on how to exploit the technology meant that we all felt sure we were going to arrive at the right solution. And the final result was even better than we dared hope."
